First Aid & CPR
The following health and safety training courses are appropriate for adults and students ages 13 and older. Children age 8 to 12 may participate with a parent who is also enrolled in the course. Courses may be customized to include care for adult or pediatric patients or both.
First Aid
Learn to recognize and respond to an emergency, and to provide basic care for injury or sudden illness until medical help arrives. Learn to identify and treat shock; control bleeding; care for a muscle, bone, or joint injury; care for a head, neck, or back injury; and respond to diabetic emergencies, temperature-related emergencies, poisoning, and allergic reactions.
CPR
Learn to recognize and respond to life-threatening breathing or cardiac emergencies. Participants will learn to care for conscious and unconscious choking victims and perform CPR on a victim of cardiac arrest.
